Wulf and Batsy With Ghosts by BryanBaugh Wulf and Batsy With Ghosts by BryanBaugh
I've been writing, drawing, and self-publishing this comic book series called "Wulf and Batsy" for about 10 years. It concerns the adventures of a ferocious werewolf and a cute female vampire as they wander the earth in search of a place to call home. Along the way they end up in all kinds of battles against other monsters. It is very violent and silly and a lot of fun. People who have bought the books seem to like them, too.

Thanks for saying so, that is cool to hear! Actually before I started my career working in TV animation, I spent a few years illustrating 6 different How-To-Draw books, and actually wrote 4 of them. Of them all, the 2 best were: "Scared: How to Draw Horror Comics Characters" (co-authored with Steve Miller) and "Zap: How to Draw Science Fiction Characters".

I really want to get my hands on this comic now, you're art is just amazing. I really like Batsy, she's too adorable for words, and i want to get to know her through your comic.

You can! The most complete way to experience Wulf and Batsy is the Volume 1 Trade Paperback. You can get this book 2 ways: Order it from the IndyPlanet Website:

Or buy it from me in person at San Diego ComicCon in July.

Every time I hear "Batsy" Mark Hamill's Joker voice pops up in my head.
Nice works on the poses here.

I love how powerful your line-work and texturing are here, and the coloring is great. The ghosts are the most brightly colored elements of the picture, but my eye jumps and stays right at that werewolf's fangs and the vampire's hands. :thumbsup:

nicely done, i like the shading and the poses of the characters. Also that there isn't too much colors, just enough to give the right feel!

Not sure if you might remember, but a long while ago i inquired from you about buying the Wulf and Batsy ';paperback' that was available. Been struggling till now and still haven't got hold of this. But now that you have a bi-monthly series coming out, i can pester my local comic vendor to see if i can order it through them! The Viper comics page has been added to my comic bookmarks! :D

YAY finally! :D

Went to see my comic vendor today. Wulf and Batsy has not been advertised in the December Previews magazine under Viper Comics. Thus i must wait and see if the January issue shows the comic, then i can order through local supplier, else i will have to order it online once in a while.
BUT i will get my hands on this series (as weird as that may sound)!! ^^;

Yeah, there may be a minor delay, but only of a month or so. Everybody was telling me Feruary for the release date, right up until Christmas, then they said it might get pushed back. Apparently there was some mix-up with the distributor? Who knows, the problem was only explained to me in very vague terms. But the first nine issues of the comic are completely finished... and just waiting to be printed.

Well apparently my reseller has found that to order from viper comics is dodgy at best! Something to do with the local distributor being full of **** so i will be making a point to order the comic online!!

Why is ordering from Viper dodgy at best?

Diamond comics control everything that we in S.A get. I order comics from what is called "independents" like IDW etc and from what i have experienced and what my guy at the store tells me, ordering from independents through Diamond doesn't always come through, or does but in pieces with missing issues.
I have managed to find viper comics in the monthly PREVIEW magazine we get, if Wulf and Batsy features in there then i have a good chance to order it, if not then i will have to order online.

Wulf and Batsy WILL appear in Diamond's Previews catalogue, (Viper already told me they plan to solicit it there) I am just not exactly sure when. But keep checking, and you'll see it within the next few months.

I don't know if someone's already made this joke, but here goes;

"Who you gonna call?" ;P

Als, another query; Why are people always portraying werewolves and vampires as enimes? I have my own theories, but I would like to know you're take.

Thanks for commenting. I have no answer to your question... That would be like asking why are people always eating cheese on hamburgers. Some people just like it that way, some people like it another way.

Sure, you (and everybody else) will be able to get a copy as soon as it hits stores in 2008. It is going to be published by Viper Comics. Just click on the Link I posted in my "Artists Comments" section under the illustration, and you will see Viper Comics' Wulf and Batsy preview page.

I have no idea how far Viper's publication stretches. But I'm sure when all the issues are collected in a trade paperback it will be available on Amazon. If you can't wait that long, hit me up with requests via e-mail and we'll see what we can do.

I really love these characters. So....do we ever see Wulf's human form? Does he even have one? Are they just friends? Or siblings? Or lovers?
