Been a while since I drew the Frankenstein Monster.
Colin Clive as the good doctor is a lot of fun to draw, too!

Artwork is all ink brush on bristol board.
Color is all Photoshop.

In a very bizarre sense, I find this endearing.

Here we having the good Doctor Frankenstein "tending" to his creation/surrogate son, who is standing patiently and letting him fix things.

Yeah, he's just trying to make sure everything is working properly!
Bio mechanics can be darn tricky!

Thank you for calling it endearing. That's how I felt too when I drew it.
There is madness here, and yet I believe Dr. Frankenstein cared about his Monster.
One of the best comments I've gotten on this one!

Sorry I'm so late on commenting--this is superb!  You're right about Colin Clive---such a face, such intense expressions!

Bryan, wow this is great! Looks like you've been doing a lot of horror-themed stuff lately. I LOVE it! Getting me in the mood for Halloween haha

Awesome :) No one could have played the parts better than Boris Karloff and Colin Clive :)

Really Awesome!
I love how you got Colin Clive recognizable in your very own style.

Thanks!! Colin Clive's face is just as interesting, distinctive, and fun to draw, as Karloff's.

This sorta looks like Re-Animator in a way.

Gee, I wonder why?
Haha.

I love The Re-Animator movie, but it was released in 1985. This drawing is based on the classic Frankenstein film, directed by James Whale, and starring Boris Karloff and Colin Clive, which was released in 1931.
So… actually… Re-Animator sorta looks like Frankenstein in a way.
History is awesome.

I like how the Monster just looks so bored with this. "If you did a better job when you put me together, we wouldn't have this problem."

"Keep a civil tongue in your head! I know you have one, I sewed it there!"

GAAAH! COLIN CLIVE! He was hands down the best Frankenstein actor. I feel saddened about how he had a bit of a drinking issue following the 2nd film, but we all have our demons.

Yeah he died from complications with alcoholism, just a couple years after the second film (Bride of Frankenstein).

A sad day for horror when that happened. I like to think that wherever he is now (if you believe in that sort of thing), he's still kicking ass and taking names surrounded by thousands of people forever inspired by his work alongside the greatness of Boris Karloff, James Whale, Ernest Thesiger and Elsa Lanchester. Oh and Dwight Frye. (Just read up Dwight Frye and he died at the age of 44? Man he was too young to go. :()
