My Bio
By day I work as a storyboard artist in Television Animation.
I have worked on action shows like "Transformers: Prime" and "Kaijudo, Rise of the Duel Masters" (for Hasbro Studios)
...as well as kiddie shows like "Elena of Avalor" and "My Friends Tigger and Pooh" (for Walt Disney TV Animation).

By night I draw MONSTERS!

I have been a monster fan my whole life, for as long as I can remember. Whether it came in the form of creepy comic books, monster movies, horror novels, or Halloween decorations, I have always loved weird, scary entertainment.

When I draw, I use traditional tools - paper, pencil, ink brushes, hawk quill pens, and acrylic paints. But I often color with Photoshop. So my work is a weird mix of traditional and digital art.

My Deviant Art Gallery is dedicated to my monster and horror illustrations. Step inside and have a look... If you dare!

Self Portrait

Not too long ago I went to my local comic book store and ended up finding an ashcan comic called Darkness Within from 1993-1994 that you did the art with the writer Chris Henry, I'm surprised I can't really find anything online about this book nor the company, but I have to say your artwork is quite great, and still looks as impressive as it was back then with the various line compositions and monster drawings you make

Haha! You stumbled upon a bit of my early indie comics history!!

Back in 1993, I illustrated a mini-series called THE DARKNESS WITHIN written by Chris Henry for Imagine This Productions. This was right smack in the middle of the Image Comics explosion and there were dozens of little indie comic publishers putting out books and selling them at every convention. ITP was best known for putting out a superhero comic called "The Superior Seven". 21 year old me, met them at the Mid-Ohio-Con in Columbus and showed them my portfolio, hoping to maybe get a gig drawing a few issues of Superior Seven. They didn't think I was a good fit for that project but the writer Chris Henry was a big Horror fan and had been writing this other series called THE DARKNESS WITHIN and asked me to draw that instead. Hungry for my "BIG BREAK in COMICS!!!" I enthusiastically illustrated two issues of what was supposed to be a 4 issue miniseries AND created several full-page illustrations for a DARKNESS WITHIN PORTFOLIO. ITP did a print-run of ash-can (5x7", digest-sized) copies of my issues. I think maybe Chris was trying to get this series picked up by a bigger publisher? I'm not sure. Beyond that point, whatever happened with THE DARKNESS WITHIN is a mystery to me. I got all the work turned in on-time, and they said they were happy with the results, but I have never seen an actual printed comic book format edition of this miniseries. And as far as I know there never was an issue 3 or 4. Maybe they shopped it around and couldn't sell it? I shipped ITP the original pages to print from (back in those pre-internet days when you had to do that) so I don't even have the originals. I own exactly one copy of the 5x7" ashcan, one copy of the DARKNESS WITHIN PORTFOLIO, and a 8.5x11" Xeroxed Booklet (that I made myself at Kinko's) and that's it. I never imagined it would ever surface again, but you found it!

Quite the tale you got there. I figured you’d be a good person to ask about it since I couldn’t find anything online and figured it was quite an early book during an independent comics era. Well thanks again, and keep up the good work

Awesome stuff!

Sup! Your series Wulf & Batsy really rocks. So is your artworks including the drawing guide books you made.
